My name is Heidi Rockney, but most people call me Newt.

I never sit still. 

I love amphibians!

I am currently a PhD student at Oregon State University working with Dr. Shawn Rowe. For my current and past research projects, please see my research page. My background is in amphibian diseases, but I am currently pursuing a degree in science communication.

I love creating!

 I orginially studied music at the University of Oregon and have dabbled in many different arts all my life. I started painting about 7 years ago and was honored to exhibit 150 paintings in my first gallery show at the Kirsten Gallery in Spring 2012.
